You’ve probably come across a doorway page before when you were surfing the Web. Doorway pages are similar to landing pages except doorway pages are practically empty. Doorway page are created specifically to utilize search engine optimization techniques and search engine marketing to get listed in the highest spot possible on search engine results page. Sometimes the person who stumbles onto a doorway page will need to click through the doorway page to get to the actual website that they were trying to get to and sometimes the page uses a Meta refresh, or an HTML code that instantly redirects the reader to another website.

Doorway pages often use a sneaky form of SEO strategies where the text on the page has nothing to do with the actual product that the company is selling but uses popular search terms in an effort to get a higher search engine results.

Doorway pages are essentially a form of the old bait and switch technique. For example if you were looking for a site on natural dog food and you did a Google search for natural dog food and you clicked on the first link at the top of the search engine results page because the description of that site that is listed under the link said that page was about the best kinds of natural dog food. Then after you clicked on that link you were taken to the web site of a nationally known pet food manufacturer who was trying to sell you their new line of natural dog food. That company is using a doorway page as a method of search engine marketing. By using search engine optimized text on the doorway page the company was able to get ranked very high by the search engine spider and was able to draw you in with a search engine marketing article but instantly sent you to their page hoping that you would buy their new dog food line.

Because a lot doorway pages are set up to act essentially as spam and to use any method available to get a particular website to the top of the search engine results page search engine spiders now are on the lookout for doorway page. The search engines will sometimes ban pages that use doorway pages from being indexed or showing up on the search engine results page. Doorway pages that have an instant Meta redirect or Meta refresh are usually not banned by the search engine spiders. Websites that use doorway pages will often use a redirect so that the webpage will still show up on a search engine’s search results page. Some website creators try to get around the ban by creating search engine optimized and content rich doorway pages but the search engine spiders are adapting are now learning how to spot doorway pages that are set up to try and attract web traffic using black hat SEO that has nothing to do with the actual content of the website.

Search engine marketing is a great tool and most play fair. For those who do not beware, the search engines engineers sit around all day figuring out how to stop the cheaters. If you stumble across some “top secret” strategy that someone is trying to sell you, be assured that the search engines already know about and have adjusted their algorithms to deal with it. Instead of wasting time and money, just do it right.

If, like me, you have a website that you spend hours of your time developing, you may also be wondering why so few people come across it. It can certainly be frustrating after the effort you invested in it. The graphics look fantastic, the menu makes sense, the text is clear and easy to read, there’s plenty of content, and of course the actual product or service you’re offering is good. Of course, no one expects overnight success - it takes a little time for the search engines to find you, and unless you’ve invested heavily in marketing and advertising using billboards, posters and so on, then obviously it will be a while before your site is even found.

After some time you will, almost certainly, start to welcome a few visitors to your site, and maybe a few of them will spend their hard earned money there as well. But you’ll probably find that you get terribly excited if you have a few visitors, and a little dejected when you start to work out how much the current rate of visitors will earn you, and dreams of the Mediterranean cruise next month might have to be put on hold. If this sounds familiar, ask yourself what you have actually done to ensure that your site does become a success? Other than a slick design, nice graphics and a catchy address, what practical measures have you employed to ensure success?

You may have spent some time thinking about the keywords used throughout the pages of your site, since you are almost certainly aware of the fact that these will help the big search engines locate your site and evaluate its relevance. Clearly being listed on Google is a significant step, but this in itself is in no way going to guarantee a flood of eager customers desperate to part with their cash. What matters more than being listed, is where you are on the list.

When people search the internet using a search engine, the list of results is ordered by rank. The higher the rank of your site, the closer to the top, on the first page, your website will be. If people enter the keywords ‘alcohol free whiskey’, and this is what your site sells, then you would hope that your website would be fairly near the top, or at the top, and definitely on the first page of results. On Google, a search for ‘alcohol free whiskey’ actually brings up 216,000 results, which at ten results per page is well over 21,000 pages. Incredibly, only 3% of people ever look past the first page of results. That means that 10 website owners will enjoy the company of 97% of visitors, whilst 215,990 website owners will only ever see 3% between them.

Possibly you might have heard of tips or companies that can rocket your website skywards and make sure your site is listed right near the top. Perhaps you’ve tried a few of these tips, and wondered why your site didn’t suddenly become the hottest place on the net? Maybe you even forked out a small fortune on a company that promised you the world and delivered you maybe a few places higher, rocketing you all the way from 164,378th place to 153,735th? Yes, 10,000 places higher, but the only difference is that number. Remember, unless you’re on the first page of results, it makes almost no difference where you are, so even if they had rocketed you to 1000th place, it still isn’t go to make much difference to your business. The thing is, that there is no single way of achieving this, and any company that takes your money on the premise that there is, is one to avoid. There are a whole range of factors, many of which are easily achievable yourself in a few hours, or even minutes. The other thing to remember is that this progress in rank doesn’t happen overnight. For many reasons, search engines don’t respond to changes immediately, and it can takes many months to achieve a high rank.

Some of the factors which will influence how well your site is ranked include keywords. Search engines scan the documents that make up your website, and catalogue the keywords which occur within it. This helps them to judge the relevance of your site compared to others and to keyword searches. It used to be relatively easy to reach the top of the search results simply by inserting hundreds of keywords all over your site. This now no longer has the effect it did, and there are many other factors which have much more influence. How many people link to your site is a big factor - obviously the more people linking to you, the more popular your site, and the more credibility is gains in the eyes of the search engines, and so your site will rise up the ranks.

I have actually come across a website which is able to analyze your website against these, and the myriad of other factors which affect the ranking of your site. I was surprised to come across it because it actually offers its service free of charge. All you do is enter your web address and contact details, and they carry out a whole range of tests to assess how well your site does for certain keyword searches, and what you could do yourself to improve it. Of course, they offer their services as far as making these improvements is concerned, but this is optional, and if you’re happy doing the work yourself, it’s a really handy service that will save you a lot of time, and a very great deal of money.

Knowing what your site does well, and what it doesn’t, will help you go a long way towards getting your website listed higher. I have a site which was hardly visible at all in Google’s results - even I got bored trying to find it. After spending a couple of days implementing a few very simple changes that made very little difference to the way the site appeared, I resubmitted it to Google. I checked it earlier today, and it’s now ranked as number one! It’s a niche market, but even so, it’s now the first site people reach, and more and more people are finding it and spending money, which is great! For two days’ work, it was well worth it. I’d certainly recommend you get your site checked out; from my experience it really made a big difference.

The system registry in a Windows machine is a database that keeps tabs on all the software and configurations of programs on a computer. Any other hardware configurations or other startup information the computer needs to keep track of will be retained in such a registry. But as consumers find, the bigger the registry, the bigger the “slowdown” effect computers experience. Thus, cleaning out the registry is a vital task to a computer’s health.

Another problem with a registry is that spyware and types of malware can hide in or infect the registry to continually degrade and corrupt a computer’s performance. This has been the direct cause of many faster computers that for some reason seem to be lagging behind as time goes on. To help aid the performance and overall health of a computer, users should go about the task of cleaning their system registry regularly.

There are generally two different ways a consumer can go about cleaning the Windows registry. The first way is to take advantage of the Windows Registry Editor that comes with Windows. Although it sounds user-friendly, everyone can be assured that it isn’t. In fact, those well versed in technology and computers will have problems in editing the system registry- meaning there is usually only one option as a result.

A time saving option would be to simply use a registry cleaning program to automatically do the work for the user. These programs can instantly remove threats and entries that are no longer needed, all while avoiding entries that a computer needs for running correctly. Not only does this save hours of time, but it also ensures that no mistakes are made in removing proper entries, or any threats were left undeleted.

Before finding a registry cleaning program, one should investigate their options and view multiple competitors of the leading programs. Reading registry cleaner reviews and obtaining information from IT professionals is another good way to get valuable opinions. Some of the top names to keep in mind remain to be Registry Mechanic, Regcure, and several other variants that stem from these two.

In the end, one should always opt for a registry cleaner that promises to make backups of any changes it makes, as this can repair any otherwise irreparable damage to the registry. Other options may target spyware and malware, and other features to look into include other security preventable features. Some of the better choices of registry cleaners will allow for a free demo or trial period- which should be taken advantage of where given.

Final Thoughts

A system registry is nothing for the average consumer to dabble in. Far too often this results in a bad experience, as the entire computer can crash into a permanent perished state of being. To prevent such catastrophe, consumers should opt for registry cleaners to help optimize, protect, and securitize their Windows registry. Doing so can help keep an investment worth having, and extend the life of a computer exponentially in the long run.

When a fellow networker was 1st exposed to network marketing it was selling soap. His 1st check was four dollars and fifty cents. His 2nd month was for $383 and his third month was over $1,000. He never worked so hard in his life for so little money. Within 2 years he was earning over $10,000 a month like they promised, but wow so many wounded and dead bodies were left behind.

That was 32 years ago and people are still joining those companies and still working 3 to 6 months before they see their 1st $1,000. Sad to say it is still only one in a hundred or even less than that see and touch over $1,000 a month in this industry. That is less than 1%.

The good news is there are still a select few that earn millions in this industry. One MLM company has 12 top earners bringing in over 1 Million dollars per year. That is out of over 500,000 people that joined and 160,000 active distributors.

IMAGINE, $1,000 + per month to only 1 out of 100 , $10,000 + per month to only 1 out of 1,000 committed distributors. Ultimately, $100,000 + per month to the very determined and productive 1 out of 10,000 members and that had been the case for the last 50 years in the MLM Industry. Until Warranties For Less (WFL) came on the scene, restructured and revolutionized the industry by putting the odds in your favorite .

What Makes WFL Different?

a)Majority of companies charge about $50 per month for a product that pays out only $20 in commissions. WFL sells a $1795 viable product that pays out a $1,000 in commissions.

b)Where most companies try to get you to jump through hoops to begin earning the bulk of the management commissions. WFL pays a person all such management commissions based on only one sale a year.

c)Many companies want you to spend money upfront to become a member and order product on autoship. Unlike, WFL there is no cost to join or monthly minimum sales requirements to earn a check.

d)Marketing plans at other companies are setup for people to fail as a result of hard requirements and little compensation. Where as WFL creates an environment for individuals to work less and earn more with a product the sells itself.

Comp Plan Reviewed?

In WFL if you were to make 6 sales your minimum earnings would be a minimum of $1530 for the 1st 3 sales and a minimum of $1830 on the next 3 sales for a total of $3360, which blows the typical MLM comp plan out alone. This is just the start, with a total of 10 income streams created in the WFL comp plan.

What is your story? A very successful MLM distributor started his career off selling soap. His 1st check was only $4.50, then $383 the next month and over $1,000 in month three. With that said there are also the people who make millions, but they are very few and far between. The most successful MLM company in 2007 after being 7 years old recruiting over 500,000 people with 160,000 still active has only 12 people who earn over One Million A Year. That equals 1 out of 50,000 who joined and 1 out of 13,000 who are really trying hard.

b)Most MLM companies want you to work extremely hard with loop holes on ever level to make a substantial income. On the other hand, with WFL you are qualified for all levels of commission after just one sale each year.

c)Many companies want you to spend money upfront to become a member and order product on autoship.

WFL pays out over $500 per sale and that number increases as you continue to build your sales force. That $500 is 10 times what your typical MLM pays out per sale. WFL also has several other income streams that create incredible leverage and team synergy.

With the incredible rapid growth that online video sharing and video search sites are realizing, more and more advertisers are pumping money into video advertising. According to the latest research, online video advertising revenues in the US are expected to reach $7.1 billion by 2012 which is a 72 percent compound annual growth rate for the next five years. In 2008, the projections are just shy of $1billion.

Because of the keen interest of the advertisers towards the online video segment, many video sharing sites have been encouraged to come up with different formats for the placement of video advertisements. The quantum of investment in this segment has fueled innovation of the methods in which video sites are deploying online video monetization and advertising programs. In-stream (pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll) advertisement formats have been in existence longest and have produced a good share of revenue for online video content producers.

Pre-Roll Ads - In this format of advertising, the advertisement clip is inserted before the actual video and while playing the video, the advertisement clip is played first and the viewer is compelled to watch the advertisement before the start of the real video file.

Post-roll Ads - This format includes the advertisements at the end of the video clip and it is up to the viewer to decide whether to watch the advertisement clip or not. This format of advertisement is being used by certain video sites. However, this is not effective for the advertiser as often times users dont watch the entire video.

Mid-Roll Video Ads: Again, like the other in-stream ads, mid-roll streams a short video clip within the video player itself, only with mid-stream, the ad gets played in the middle of the video almost like a normal TV commercial. This seems to be somewhat less offensive to users.

Some of the video sites have started experimenting with different formats like, in-player banners: In-player ads sometimes include relevant text or image advertisements in the space available in video player between the outer margin of the video and the inner margin of the video player.

The buzz in the past year has been with regard to a newer method of video ad delivery that attempts to match relevance by choosing video ads to run with only video that is similar in subject. This is known as contextual video advertising and it can take on a range of different formats with images or text being displayed within a portion of the video window, only being activated when clicked on.

Of all the various experiments with contextual video advertising, one format has taken off and has even become the standard video advertising format that YouTube and many other sites have adopted instead of pre-roll ads. This format is known as the Overlay ad and it is basically a contextually relevant text ad that is shown in a portion of the player and does not annoy users as much as in-stream advertising.

These are some of the popular and in-use video formats at the present time. But the work is still going on for the development of the new video formats for the future and no real standard has been set. It will be quite interesting to see what the leaders in this space come up with next.

Links to your site is one of the things that Google looks for to decide how important your site is, and therefore its ranking.

The most important thing about links is to keep it relevant. If the page you link to is relevant to the content on your site this is good. If the site is relevant this is better. Not all links are created equal.

Here are some ways to get quality links to your site:

Reciprocal Links.

Once upon a time they were considered very good, today they don’t have the value they once did but they are still useful. It is important that the links you get in this way are very relevant to the content in your site. This way reciprocal links will still increase your ranking.

Article Writing.

One of the best ways of improving your ranking and increasing relevant links to your site is article writing. You need to be a regular contributor of articles. Most article sites will allow you a link back to your site in the bio section. There are hundreds of article directories that you can post your articles to. Here are a few you really need to use: EzineArticles.com, ArticleCity.com, and GoArticles.com.

Link Farms

If you come across a link farm go the other way. A link farm is a site of scrolling pages with countless links. These links are bad. They can actually kill your rankings. They are really part of a spammer’s network. Never link to any of these sites as it can downgrade your ranking with Google.

Directories

Links from directories can be very helpful in upgrading your ranking. This is especially so from such directories such as DMOZ and Yahoo. You can also look for other respected directories. Try to get your site listed with DMOZ. It can be very difficult but if you keep submitting it every 4 - 6 months. Search for the best category and keep trying for it.

It is easier to get listed with Yahoo. Easier in one way and that is you don’t need to keep trying. Not so easy in another way and that is it will cost you $299. Google sees Yahoo directory as somewhat of an authority. Your link will be valuable because of this.

Another important thing you can keep in mind with regard to linking is anchor text. Anchor text is the words that are actually linked to the hyperlink. Here’s an example: To download this product click here. The click here is the anchor text. If you did a search with Google using the words click here, you will find that that keyword points to Adobe Acrobat reader. The reason is that many sites point their user to this page to download acrobat reader for free as this is needed to read PDF files.

An anchor text link that uses the keyword or key phrase is far better. For example if you were targeting the keyword phrase; “low cost web hosting” You would anchor it this way: “to really benefit from our low cost web hosting here are some pointers” The keyword phrase we are targeting is our anchor text.

These are just a few of the many things you can do to increase your ranking with Google.

Everyone had a blog today, so you already know the competition is high. Here are a few tips you can do to dominate with your blog and keep people coming back for more.

For starters, you need to have your own blog hosted on your own domain. If you want to make an impact, you need to be able to tell everyone you at least care enough about your business to get your own domain and hosting. Anything else just signals laziness.

I would make it a point of visiting the blogs of people you respect, and would like to know, and start making some intelligent comments. Then, if you can get these guys to recognize you, and start answering your comments, then you may be on your way to developing a good blogosphere relationship.

Hopefully, they are active in the commenting of the blog, and will answer you back. This can now be the beginning of a blogging relationship.

You can also use your blog as a reference.

Anytime, you figure out the steps to do something, put them on your blog. This allows you to know the exact steps you took to do something. It has saved me a ton of time by not having to look for it again. And, I also know it has helped others, because when viewing my traffic reports, I can see the pages they are visiting.

One other thing you can do is meet these bloggers in person. Give them a face to a name. There are plenty of blogging conventions each month. Just find one you would like to attend, and then make it a point of meeting them.

There are just a few of the ways to can develop a dominating blog. But first, you need to build some relationships, as this is the name of the game.

There are so many televisions out there so how do you know which are the best Plasma TVs? You have probably walked into your local electronics store and found yourself overwhelmed by the vast array of choices. Every make, model, price range and size are sitting there before you and you find yourself unable to choose. At least, this is what happened to me.

I was on the same quest not too long ago. I am on a fixed income so I had a very strict budget and had to make sure I didn’t spend too much. At the same time, I didn’t want to get something junky either. I was determined to get everything I wanted at a price I could afford.

The thing is, I cannot tell you exactly which are the best Plasma TVs are. It would really be determined by what you want to do with it. Is it for your weekend Halo 3 tournaments or do you just watch a movie every once and a while? Do you need high definition so you can see every detail of your favorite football games?

No fear, there are things you can do to make sure you find the best Plasma TV possible. First write down the features you ‘have to have’. You know, those things that are deal breakers for you. Maybe you want an iron clad warranty, or maybe you have your eye on high definition. Once you know what you want, you can look for models that fit the bill.

Next, write a list down of the models that you like. Once you have that, you can dig a bit deeper and narrow it down to the absolute best one. There really is no need to settle for anything short of what you want, even if you are on a budget.

If your home is full of small children you may want to get one that can hang on your wall with a wall mount. That way you can keep your precious TV out of their reach.

Remember, you cannot always trust the manufacturer’s website. Of course they are going to tout their own as the best thing next to sliced bread.

Your best bet would be to check out third party reviews and websites. That way you are sure to get unbiased answers to your questions and can make a more educated decision. Just follow this advice and soon you will be watching your beautiful Plasma TV in the comfort of your own home.
